In year 1 of CareerSense, we have:

Delivered 644 workshops in school
Reached 138 bank employee Ambassadors across our CareerSense programmes
Reached 17,550 young people

The programme provides young people with tools and access to the information needed to help them build their CareerSense.

The CareerSense ‘Find your Potential’ tool helps young people on their career exploration journey. It only takes 20 minutes to create a personalised report, highlighting key skills for the future. Students receive suggestions of future careers they may want to pursue, based on their strengths and what they enjoy

THE PROGRAMMES

NatWest CareerSense programmes connect with 13-24-year-olds at scale, and just as the needs of different ages and groups of young people aren’t the same, neither are our solutions. We’ve developed multiple strands of CareerSense to make sure all young people are included.

CareerSense Find Your Path

Creating and delivering real opportunities

CareerSense Find Your Path is part of NatWest’s employability programme and helps young people aged 16-24 not currently in education, employment or training (NEET) discover their potential. Delivered with regional partners, the programme offers peer-to-peer mentoring, skills workshops and paid work experience placements with NatWest – all to equip young people with the support and skills they need to thrive.

It’s an exciting opportunity for young people to develop key transferable skills and build self-confidence through a professional work placement. Through a blend of remote and in-person sessions, participants will complete the programme with the tools and experience to enter sustained employment or further education.

The impact: In its first year, Find Your Path aims to support 100 NEET young people across the UK.

CareerSense Dream Bigger

Opening doors to entrepreneurship

The CareerSense Dream Bigger programme has supported over 2,300 students across UK schools with entrepreneurship focused lessons and resources. The programme encourages students to “Dream Bigger” and signposts them to relevant tools which support their entrepreneurial journey.

Providing inspirational content and supported by bank Ambassadors to bring the real-world into the classroom, the programme of in-school workshop sessions and online resources show what it’s really like to become an entrepreneur.

65% of respondents said that the workshop helped them to understand what skills they might need for a career in entrepreneurship.

CareerSense Dream bigger helps 16-18-year-olds understand that entrepreneurship is a real career path. It’s not an easy one and not right for everyone, but it can be extremely rewarding.

The Impact: By the end of 2022, we will reach 2,800 students.

CareerSense Exploration Workshops

Developing core employability skills for the future

The CareerSense Exploration Workshop is a classroom-based workshop that uses our National Schools Partnership Network to leverage mass reach to secondary schools across the UK. The inspirational workshop is co-delivered by NatWest Ambassadors, enabling students to develop core employability skills for the workplace.

67% of respondents said that the workshop helped them to understand how the skills they’d learned about could be applied in the workplace.

The workshop has taken place at over 125 schools with a focus on delivery in schools with low indicators of social mobility, supporting young people most in need. So far, 15,136 young people have taken part in an Exploration Workshop.

The Impact: By the end of 2022, we will reach 20,000 students.

Find Your Path

At first the word "bank" intimidated me, but it's been amazing to learn about the wide range of departments and roles that suit my skills and interests. I'm learning a lot about myself and the expectations of a working environment

Find Your Path Programme participant

They are learning how to think differently... The content is definitely focused on improving mindset as opposed to training new industry skills

Dream Bigger

Good quality content which makes all the difference - complete content. Good structure and building on the knowledge and segways from one to another. By dropping the ppt - kept up the pace, attention dropped in videos. Keeping the pace up to avoid restlessness
